Shakira has claimed that two wild boars attacked her and stole her bag and phone in Barcelona.

In a post shared on Instagram Stories on Wednesday, the “She Wolf” singer said she was walking in a park with her eight-year-old son when the event took place.

Sharing a video of her torn bag covered in mud, she explained in Spanish: “Look at how two wild boar which attacked me in the park have left my bag.

“They were taking my bag to the woods with my mobile phone in it. They’ve destroyed everything.”

She then was heard asking her son how she had “stood up to the wild boar”.

There have been problems with boars attacking other animals and stealing rubbish in neighbourhoods bordering the Collserola natural park.

In 2016, police received more than 1,000 calls about the animals, who have been increasingly coming into the city in search of food.

Shakira, who was born in Colombia, moved to Barcelona in 2011 with her footballer husband Gerard Piqué.

She is currently facing trial in Spain after allegedly evading €14.5m (£13m) in tax.
