Pop superstar Shakira has claimed to have been attacked by two wild boars while she was walking in a park in Barcelona with her son.

The singer, 44, claims the boars snatched her bag and phone after she stood up to the beasts.

She told her 70 million followers on Instagram that she was with her eight-year-old son Milan when the incident happened.

Holding up her ruined bag to the camera, she said: “Look at how two wild boar which attacked me in the park have left my bag.

“They were taking my bag to the woods with my mobile phone in it. They’ve destroyed everything.”

She then begs her son, who she shares with Barcelona center-back Gerard Pique: “Milan tell the truth. Say how your mummy stood up to the wild boar.”

Shakira is the latest victim of the trash-eating boars, which have invaded Collserola, a celebrity-studded suburb.

In 2016, Spanish police received 1,187 phone calls about wild hogs attacking dogs, plundering cat-feeders, holding up traffic and running into cars in the city.

Three years earlier a policeman shot at a boar with his service revolver, but hit and maimed his partner instead.

Shakira will be in London next month to judge the upcoming Earthshot Prize alongside Prince William and Sir David Attenborough.

The winners in five categories will each receive £1 million to develop their projects for solutions which tackle one of the five Earthshots, which are: Protect and restore nature; Clean our air, Revive our oceans; Build a waste-free world; and Fix our climate.

An awards ceremony for the inaugural Earthshot Prize at Alexandra Palace in London on October 17 will also be aired on BBC One.
