To celebrate the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth on 23 April, we’d like you to share with us quotes from the Bard that you consider to be good advice for life.

If you’d like to take part, send us a clip of yourself reading your quote of choice via Instagram or Vine, and include the hashtag #gdnbard. We’ll be rounding up the best submissions to publish on the day.

To give an example of the kind of thing we’re after, we went around the Guardian office and cajoled a few staff members into reading out a Shakepeare quote of their choice. The results are something of a mixed bunch – can you do better?

Elena Cresci quotes from King Lear: “A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool.”
Daan Louter quotes from The Tempest: “We are such stuff as dreams are made on.”
Nabeelah Shabbir quotes from Henry IV part 1: “I have more flesh than another man and therefore more frailty.”
James Walsh quotes from Titus Andronicus: “Thou hast undone our mother … Villian, I have DONE thy mother.”
Carmen Fishwick quotes from Julius Caesar: “It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.”
