NEW DELHI: Pakistan pace sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi on Friday tied the knot with former skipper Shahid Afridi’s daughter Ansha at a mosque in Karachi. The pair got engaged two years ago.
As soon as the wedding was solemnised, the images from the private event appeared on the social media websites.
The pacer's teammates graced the occasion with their presence. The guests included current Pakistan captain Babar Azam, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan among others. Squash legend Jahangir Khan was also among the attendees.
According to reports, a reception was held soon after the nikah (wedding).
As per the reports, Shaheen’s family reached Karachi two days earlier for the wedding and the couple’s mehndi function was held on Thursday night.
The 22 years old pacer has represented Pakistan in 25 Tests, 32 ODIs and 47 T20Is, while taking 99, 62 and 58 wickets respectively in the three formats of the game.
Shaheen will be next seen in action for Lahore Qalandars in the upcoming eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League, which is scheduled to begin on February 13.
