Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan drug case: My family including my sister and deceased mother are being targeted: Sameer Wankhede to Special NDPS court

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB)’s zonal director Sameer Wankhede had sought protection from legal action fearing being framed falsely with ulterior motives.

Now, the NCB chief has reportedly told the Special NDPS court that he was being targeted and is ready for a probe. He also added that his family including his sister and deceased mother are being targeted.

Two affidavits have reportedly been filed in the case, one by the NCB and one by Wankhede.

Just hours after Prabhakar Sail, the personal bodyguard of witness K P Gosavi, came out with a series of allegations, including discussions of a payoff to NCB officials, Wankhede wrote to the Mumbai police commissioner expressing fear that he may be framed in a case.

He said, “It has come to my notice that some precipitate legal action for framing me falsely is being planned by unknown persons in relation to the alleged vigilance issue.” Wankhede also added that the NCB deputy director-general, Mutha Jain, has referred the matter to the director-general of NCB for necessary action.

“Let a central agency probe these allegations and the truth will come out,” an official said. The letter reportedly said the threat of jail and dismissal has been issued against him on public media by highly respectable public functionaries. NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik has been on a warpath with Wankhede on the cruise drug seizure probe.

The Narcotics Control Bureau has earlier issued an official statement where Zonal director Sameer Wankhede has denied such allegations by the witness. The closing statement read, “Our zonal director, Mumbai Zonal Unit, Mr. Sameer Wankhede has categorically denied these allegations. As some of the contents of the affidavit related to vigilance matters, I am hereby forwarding the affidavit to the Director General Narcotics Control Bureau and requesting him for further necessary actions”.
