A police dog helped police catch a man armed with a Samurai sword in Leeds.

Samurai swords were banned in England in 2008, making it illegal to sell, make, hire or import them. It is illegal to carry a knife in public without good reason, unless it has a folding blade with a cutting edge 3 inches long or less.

A tweet from the West Yorkshire Police dogs Twitter account said: "PD shadow assisted the firearms team last night deal with a male walking around North Leeds with a Samauri sword #onelessweapon".
