Shadab Khan seeks help from fromer spinner Saqlain Mushtaq to revive his career

In order to bring his derailed international career back on track, Pakistan leg-spinner Shadab Khan has sought the help of bowling great and former off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq.

"He (Saqlain) has been a successful player and is a qualified coach so he is now helping me out at the high performance centre to find that old touch back in my bowling and also how to further improve my batting power," Shadab said.

Saqlain is assisting Shadab in developing additional variations to enhance his bowling repertoire.

He has struggled to maintain his position in the national squad following the T20 World Cup in June this year and hasn't featured in ODI cricket since the World Cup in India last year.

The 26-year-old Shadab, who is also a handy lower-order batter, hopes to make a comeback with the Champions Trophy at home,

"I miss playing for Pakistan and with the Champions Trophy being held at home and with so much cricket coming up, I want to convince the selectors to recall me to international cricket," Shadab said.

The national selectors may recall Shadab and batters Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq to Pakistan's ODI squad for the Champions Trophy.
