Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan recently appeared on NFL Network before his team’s “Thursday Night Football” game with the Tennessee Titans and discussed the latest surrounding All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who wants to be traded.
It goes without saying Ramsey has been the face of the Jaguars’ franchise for the last three seasons. During his time on air, Khan acknowledged Ramsey’s key involvement with this franchise and the city, but ultimately stated that he’ll do what’s right for the organization.
Fans had been wanting to hear from Khan, but his statements above probably won’t do much for them. It’s unclear if he has sat down with Ramsey as the young corner chose not to comment on if he spoke with management Tuesday, but one would think both parties have talked to some degree. If not, that may be an issue in itself.
The Jaguars are in a tough position as their former third overall selection is clearly disgruntled. Ramsey has been a focal point for the team, franchise, and city for much of the last three seasons and it goes without saying the team would like to keep the former All-Pro corner if possible. Regardless of what happens in the coming days, Ramsey is a Jaguar as of Thursday and the Jags will put their efforts into winning this key in-division rivalry.
