'Sh* Italian' The insult hurled at Maurizio Sarri as Chelsea boss loses the rag in Burnley touchline bust-up

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri was repeatedly called a "sh*t Italian" by Burnley’s backroom staff during an explosive touchline row.

The seething Stamford Bridge club’s head coach was sent off following a bust-up during the English Premier League encounter on Monday night that finished 2-2.

And according to the Daily Mail, the brawl was sparked by Burnley’s coaching staff repeatedly shouting the insult at Sarri.

Eyewitnesses say he lost the rag with Sean Dyche’s staff and was so offended he gave the post-match press conference duties to his No.2, Gianfranco Zola.

It’s being reported fourth official Roger East will include details of the flashpoint in his report – and the FA may even begin a probe into a racially-aggravated incident at Stamford Bridge.

It erupted on the sidelines as Antonio Rudiger – out with a knee injury – had to be held back by stewards as he rowed with Burnley goalkeeping coach Billy Mercer.

Javi Gracia on Chelsea’s shortlist to replace Maurizio Sarri

The pressure is on Sarri but due to Arsenal’s defeat to Crystal Palace, the draw with Burnley was still enough to elevate Chelsea back into the top four.

Record Sport Online ’s Duncan Castles revealed earlier this month the Blues have included Javi Gracia on a shortlist of candidates to replace the Italian as the club's head coach.
