SFA release Return To Football routemap for all age groups

The SFA have released a Return To Football routemap for all age groups in line with guidance from the Scottish Government.

The detailed plan sets out all the key dates and regulations for Under 12s, 12-17 year-olds and 18 years and older for the dates between Monday, April 5 and Monday, May 17.

The rules vary across different age groups with young children allowed to return to full-contact action and competitive matches before older age groups.

From Monday, April 5 all children under the age of 18 are permitted to engage in contact training outside. Adults ages 18 or older will not be allowed to return to full contact training until Monday, May 17.

This latter date was a key factor in decisions to end both the Lowland League and West of Scotland League season as it was unrealistic to expect to fulfil league fixtures imminently.

Under 12's and 12-17 year-olds will be allowed to return to inter club matches and competition on Monday, April 26 but senior clubs can't play an fixtures until Monday, May 17 at the earliest.

The routemap also sets out guidelines on travel restrictions which informs coaches whether they are allowed to travel between local authorities to attend matches and training.
