SFA refund Scotland fans for crucial Israel closed-door clash as Supporters Club members receive welcome boost

The SFA have announced all fans that have purchased a ticket for Scotland 's playoff tie against Israel next month will receive a full refund.

Steve Clarke 's national side will be without a capacity Hampden crowd for one of the country's biggest games in recent years because of Covid-19 as they look to see off their Middle Eastern opposition.

They hope to reach an all-or-nothing away game at Norway or Serbia to reach the rescheduled Euros next summer.

But with a recent spike in Scottish cases, cold water has been poured on the idea of fans attending the match, even in a test event capacity.

And it remains unclear as to when supporters will return to the national stadium in Mount Florida.

Fans will be refunded over the next seven days for their tickets and also have the option of donating the price of their ticket refund to a new grassroots football fund to fight Covid-19.

Refunds for Hampden Park hospitality and debentures will be processed separately.

Given that the Tartan Army likely won't attend a single game in 2020, the SFA have also moved to automatically extend Scotland Supporters Club memberships until the end of 2022.
