SFA charge Hearts and Aberdeen over Tynecastle confrontation

Hearts and Aberdeen have been charged by the Scottish FA after last Saturday’s match at Tynecastle.

The Jambos won the match but 2-1, but both teams have been cited after a second half flash points following a foul by Aberdeen’s Dom Ball on Hearts’ Sean Clare.

The defender caught the number nine on the back of the head with a late challenge and proceeded to stand over the player and shout his displeasure.

That provoked a reaction from Clare’s teammates, with Jake Mulraney, Arnaud Djoum and John Souttar in particular keen to let Ball know what they thought of him, and the usual pushing and shoving ensued.

Both clubs have been charged with breaching disciplinary rule 204 – where three or more players/members of staff are involved in a confrontation with players or staff from the opposing team.

They have until next Wednesday t respond to the charge, with the hearing date set for Thursday 25 April.
