SFA boosted by record Scotland Supporters Club membership surge ahead of crucial Israel play-off

The SFA have seen a tidal wave of sign-ups for the Scotland Supporter's Club since membership books reopened at 12pm today.

More than 5000 memberships have been submitted in just three hours this afternoon, exceeding all expectations.

SFA sources suggest the numbers have eclipsed the previous weekly record in just 180 minutes.

The club remains the only way for the Tartan Army to guarantee tickets for the one-off Hampden play-off against Israel.

Scotland won the spot by topping their Nations League group ahead of both Andi Herzog's side and Albania.

Our national football body has already announced that ticket prices will be slashed for the showpiece event with briefs changing hands for as little as £5.

Early interest in the crucial encounter suggest a sell-out is in the offing as footsoldiers get behind Steve Clarke 's qualification tilt.

Scotland will face Norway or Serbia in an winner-takes-all tie five days later should they emerge victorious.
