Sexual predator kidnapped and raped women after being released from prison

A dangerous sexual predator raped, kidnapped and threatened two women shortly after his prison release from a life sentence for similar crimes.

Liverpudlian Glen Samson, 40, waged a campaign of mental and physical abuse against the two women following his release in 2016.

The "depraved coward" has once again been locked up and must now serve a massive minimum of 32 years before his parole can be considered.

In 2004, he received a life sentence for offences including of multiple rapes, false imprisonment and grievous bodily harm.

Samson, who comes from Merseyside, served 12 years before he was let out on licence.

The abuse, which took place in Huddersfield, Liverpool and London, came to light when one of the victims came forward to police in 2018.

An investigation into his offending was started and the second victim was identified.

She later came forward to police as well.

During a trial at Bradford Crown Court, Samson refused to take the stand and also declined to give evidence - despite putting both his victims through the gruelling court process.

Earlier this week, Samson was convicted of 24 counts of rape, two counts of control and coercive behaviour, threats to kill and three counts of false imprisonment.

He was given a further life sentence with a minimum of 32 years in prison.

Detective Inspector Seth Robinson, who led the investigation, said: “Samson’s conviction, for what can only be described as horrendous crimes, has removed a dangerous and obsessed sexual predator from our streets.

"It was evident that he had planned to commit these offences against the victims and if they had not had the courage to come forward, he would continue to abuse them.

“He is a coward and showed no remorse for what he had done to his victims and the campaign of abuse he inflicted on them.

“The two victims have showed immense bravery throughout the whole criminal process and I hope that the sentencing of this depraved man allows them some closure to their horrific ordeal.

"They have been supported by specially trained officer since they came forward to the police to report the offences.”
