Police officers were called to a Merseyside railway station following reports on a sexual assault.
Shortly after 8.30pm on Thursday, September 22, British Transport Police (BTP) officers were called to Southport station following reports of the incident. They received reports of a sexual assault that had occurred on board a train.
Officers have since launched an investigation and anyone with any information is being urged to contact the force.

A BTP spokesman said: "British Transport Police were called to Southport station at 8.36pm on Thursday 22 September following reports of a sexual assault on-board a train. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing. Witnesses, or anyone with information, are asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 601 of 22/09/22."
