Sex offender who abused teenage girl gets 518-year sentence

March 14--A repeat sex offender who was found guilty of abusing a girl for six years in the Antelope Valley was sentenced Friday to more than 500 years in prison, prosecutors said.

He was convicted of four counts of sodomy by force; three counts of lewd acts upon a child; two counts of continuous sexual abuse; forcible oral copulation; and one count sexual penetration by a foreign object.

Aguilar was also convicted of having failed to update his sex offender registration from a past crime.

Aguilar has been required to register as a sex offender since 1995 after he was convicted of abusing a 13-year-old girl in the Long Beach area, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County district attorney's office.

After he was released from custody for that crime, he returned to the girl's home and attempted to abuse her again and received another six years in prison for a probation violation, prosecutors said.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Daviann Mitchell sentenced Aguilar to 518 years after hearing from the victim, her mother and godmother, according to prosecutors.
