Sex offender denies breach of supervision, Perth Sheriff Court hears

A 20-year-old man, spared jail after he sexually assaulted a teenage girl at a house in Perth, has been accused by social workers of breaching his community payback order.

But Brandon Bloice, of Beattie Gardens, Crieff, has denied failing to conform to the terms of his supervision.

Now a hearing will take place at Perth Sheriff Court on July 29 to determine if the breach is proved.

He was given a two-year community payback order - and his name was put on the sex offenders’ register for the same length of time - after he admitted sexually assaulting the female after pulling down her trousers and underwear at a city flat on February 16, 2017.

He had a not guilty plea accepted to a second charge of sexually assaulting another female at a house on the North Muirton estate on March 3 or 4, 2017.

The Crown also dropped a third charge on the indictment which alleged that he “culpably and recklessly” plied a 14-year-old boy with alcohol in the grounds of Crieff Community Hospital on February 20, 2017.

Imposing the order in January, Sheriff William Wood told Bloice that he had been branded a sexual offender because he hadn’t understood that people, of whatever gender, were “allowed to change their minds.”

And the sheriff added: “If that happens, stop means stop.”

As part of the community payback order, a series of conduct requirements were imposed on Bloice.

He had to inform his supervising officer of “any intimate or domestic relationship he enters into with anyone.”

That included whether he was considering a sexual relationship, or living with someone, whether permanently or temporarily.

Special conditions were also put in place regarding his use of computers or internet devices.

In addition, Bloice was banned from having any internet device unless it was capable of storing its search history.

He was also prohibited from using any software or taking any action to delete or tamper with that search history.

As part of Bloice’s supervision, he was ordered to attend for mental health treatment from a forensic psychologist.

In addition, to comply with his registration as a sex offender, he had to tell police where he was staying or if he changed address.

Bloice was freed on bail following his latest court appearance.
