Sex offender absconds from HMP Leyhill after day working in Bristol

A sex offender has absconded from a South Gloucestershire prison.

Police are appealing for the public's help in tracing him but have urged people not to approach him.

Ronan Korby, also known as Lee Watersworth was last seen at 10am on Friday, May 31 in West Street, Bristol.

Police say he was in the city on a work placement but has failed to return to HMP Leyhill where he is serving a sentence for sexual offences.

He is described as a white man aged 50, around 5ft 10ins tall and of medium build.

He was wearing a black jacket and jeans ands has a tattoo of a sun and eagle on his right forearm.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police said: "If you do see him, do not approach him but call 999 immediately, quoting reference 5219120912.

"If you have any other information which could help officers trace him you can get in touch through www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact or by calling 101, quoting the same reference.

Alternatively pass on information through the independent charity Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not go to court or have to speak to police when contacting Crimestoppers.
