The British woman allegedly murdered by her partner in a Swiss hotel had enjoyed a romantic champagne dinner with him hours earlier.
Anna Reed, 22, and Marc Schatzle, 29, quaffed bottles of £57 Brunelleschi Di Montalcino wine and £100 Brut bubbly, and a waiter said they looked “so in love”.
They visited restaurant Osteria Nostrana by boat last Monday in Ascona, five miles from the hotel in Muralto where Anna was found dead on Tuesday.
Bouncer Schatzle – who has “Warrior” tattooed on his forehead – claimed she died in a sex game that went wrong but police confirmed he has been formally accused of “intentional murder”.

Waiter Rasto Kitanov said: “They were laughing and joking, and seemed like any other normal couple. They came in the night before it happened.
“It was raining, so we put the parasol up for them as they wanted to sit outside to admire the lake.
“She asked for a blanket as she was cold and she was dressed very glamorous. But we had to give her a tablecloth as we didn’t have one. He wrapped it around her and gave her a cuddle.

“They looked in love. They stayed two hours, which is quite a long time. He kept making jokes with the waiters and we thought they were very happy. He had a weird tattoo but he was pleasant enough. It’s such a tragedy.”
An unnamed ex of Schatzle said he lived lavishly but never held down a regular job. She told a newspaper: “He has a problem with alcohol and cocaine and he was always able to travel to nice places. He betrayed me but he is not a violent man.”
Anna, of Harrogate, North Yorks, met Schatzle, who calls himself Marc Dirtywhite, in Thailand.
Her father Clive Reed, 62, is understood to have flown to Switzerland with his elder daughter Millie, 24, on Friday.
