Sex Education star Asa Butterfield enjoys break from filming in Tenby

Star of the hit Netflix show, Sex Education, Asa Butterfield has been enjoying spending part of his summer in Wales. The 25-year-old spends time working on Sex Education across its many filming locations across the south Wales valleys.

The fourth season of Sex Education has officially begun filming in Wales, Netflix has confirmed. Asa has posted photos of himself on set for the fourth series as well as enjoying a holiday in Tenby. You can read all the celebrities to visit Wales so far in 2022 here.

In an Instagram post captioned "A big, steaming, summer dump" Asa can be seen enjoying a ball game with two others on North Tenby Beach with the picturesque Tenby seafront in the background. Other photos he has posted include him relaxing in a house with a pool, in a pub, and enjoying a waterslide.

This is not the first time a Sex Education star has enjoyed Wales. In 2021 Ncuti Gatwa, who has been confirmed to be playing the new Doctor Who, posted pictures of the cast enjoying a night out at Cardiff restaurant The Ivy. Previously Asa has admitted that he sometimes struggles meeting fans while out and about and said he had to "slap multiple phones" out of his face in a furious rant on social media.

The fourth series of Sex Education will see Kedar Williams-Stirling, Mimi Keene, George Robinson, Chinenye Ezeudu, Dua Saleh, Alistair Petrie, and Samantha Spiro returning to the show. The cast will also be joined by Emmy award-winning actor and Schitt’s Creek star, Dan Levy, who is playing Thomas Molloy, a famous author and Maeve’s (Emma Mackey) US course tutor at her Ivy League college.

Rakhee Thakrar, who has played teacher Emily Sands for the last three series, has confirmed she is "not part of the new series", but said she was "so proud of the show and grateful to have been part of something so important".
