Sex Education's Ncuti Gatwa shares pictures of cast celebrating at Cardiff's Ivy restaurant

Cast members of Netflix series Sex Education made the best of their stay in Wales shooting the Netflix comedy-drama as fan favourite Ncuti Gatwa shared a group picture of the cast enjoying a popular Cardiff city centre restaurant.

Stars of the hit show - which earlier this week was confirmed for a fourth season - including Gatwa, who plays Eric, Asa Butterfield, Emma Mackay, Dua Selah and more were pictured at The Ivy's upstairs bar at their Hayes location in Cardiff.

Gatwa is posing inside the restaurant along with fellow cast members Kedar Williams-Stirling (Jackson), Emma Mackey (Maeve), Chinenye Ezeudu (Vivienne), Asa Butterfield (Otis), Simone Ashley (Olivia) and Dua Saleh (Cal) - the smash hit show is mainly filmed in Wales. He posted the photos along with the caption: "A summer bubble (Missing some very important faces) but a summer bubble all the same ".

Season three of the popular comedy was confirmed way back in September 2020, but was only released on September 17 this year after the pandemic led to a series of filming delays.

Cast members and the show's official social media channels have recently been sharing pictures and clips taken during filming after details of filming dates, locations and spoilers were closely under wraps at the time.

Earlier this week, actor Asa Butterfield revealed how he had to "slap multiple phones" out of his face from fans taking his picture without permission during a recent night out.

In an angry post on Twitter, the 24-year-old asked fans to "leave him be" and said he was "so tired" of people filming and taking pictures of him without asking.

Actors from the hugely popular show are not the first celebrities to be spotted enjoying South Wales in recent months.

Last month Hollywood actor Tom Hardy stunned members of the public when he was spotted at various locations while filming the upcoming Netflix film Havoc around Wales. In July he was seen down in Barry Island - later going down for a second time - and last month shocked shoppers who spotted him in Marks & Spencer in Culverhouse Cross in Cardiff.

He was later snapped in a photo taken with an eager fan while filming at Brangwyn Hall in Swansea.

And Lin Manuel-Miranda and Luis Guzman were also sampling the restaurant scene in Cardiff last month, with a dinner out at Thomas in Pontcanna.
