Creep Curtis McDonagh touched the breast of a 15-year-old girl at Heads of Ayr Farm Park.
The 20-year-old appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court last week and admitted sexually assaulting the girl at park on April 22 this year.
McDonagh admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at the farm park on the same day.
At a previous hearing Fiscal Depute Scott Toal told the court how the offence happened at around 4.30pm, when the victim was there with friends and family.
“She was part of a group of three children and a grandmother,” said Mr Toal. “They were waiting for a taxi near the entrance.
“The accused was loitering nearby and obviously under the influence of something. He was definitely staggering.”
Mr Toal said the group were together, with the grandmother sitting on the grass.
He continued: “The accused walked in the direction of one young girl and placed his hand on her breast, over her clothes.
“Immediately the girl raised her hand in protest but basically the accused just lay down next to the grandmother to engage her in conversation.”
Staff at the farm park were called and spoke to McDonagh but he became angry and shouted and swore at them.
Mr Toal said: “Other members of the public passing by became aware of what was going on but the complainer and the group left in a taxi and police were contacted.”
Sheriff Mhari Mactaggart deferred sentence on McDonagh, of Blacksyke Avenue, Kilmarnock, for background reports, including a risk assessment.
When the case recalled for sentencing on Thursday, August 22, McDonagh was handed a community payback order, which includes one year of supervision from the local authority social work department.
McDonagh was also placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for 12 months.
