A sex attacker who filmed himself assaulting a teenage boy has had his prison sentence increased.
Michael McCarthy lured the 17-year-old to his home with the promise of taking drugs.
But he was battered with a baseball bat and stripped by McCarthy and another man.
McCarthy told his victim he was going to murder him before sexually assaulting him. He filmed the attack on his phone before the victim fled.
A judge at the High Court in Edinburgh jailed him for five years but prosecutors appealed, and said he had been shown “undue leniency”. Lord Matthews has now ordered he should serve an extended sentence which includes seven years in prison and a further three years on licence.
