Sex assault on teenage girl at Govan's Elder Park

A park in Govan has been cordoned off after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted.

Police closed part of Elder Park on Monday morning to carry out investigations.

The teenage girl was targeted in the area on Sunday evening.

Investigations are currently ongoing and police remain on the scene.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Officers in Glasgow are investigating following a report that a teenage girl was the victim of a sexual offence in the Elder Park area in the evening of Sunday January 3.

"Enquiries are at an early stage and ongoing."
