Sex and the City to return with series revival without Kim Cattrall amid feud

Sex and the City is set to return to our screens this year after stars teased a clip of the upcoming revival series to excited fans.

Sarah Jessica Parker will reunite with co-stars Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon in New York for the much-loved show, which first aired in 1998.

However, Kim Cattrall, who plays sex-crazed Samantha, has not been recast in the HBO Max reboot amid reports of a long-running feud.

The three original stars of the show, who played Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte, announced the exciting news as they shared a teaser on their social media platforms.

In the video, Sarah Jessica could be heard typing at her computer, similar to how Carrie Bradshaw started every episode, and said: "And just like that...

She added: "The story continues..."

It comes as Kim Cattrall distanced herself from any Sex and the City remakes in 2017 and spoke of her disinterest in being involved.

Kim said at the time: "It’s quite extraordinary to get any kind of negative press about something that I’ve been saying for almost a year of ‘no’ that I’m demanding or a diva.

"And this is really where I take to task the people from Sex and the City, and specifically Sarah Jessica Parker, in that I think she could have been nicer.”

Sarah Jessica was forced to address the reason why the character of Samantha would not appear in the latest series and insisted she 'isn't part' of this story.

The Sex and the City star replied to a fan's comment asking if there was bad blood and wrote: "No, I don't dislike her. I've never said that. Never would.

"Samantha isn't part of this story. But she will always be part of us. No matter where we are or what we do. X (sic)"

Kim first publicly spoke of her feud with Sarah Jessica three years ago, when she insisted she wasn't "friends" with any of her Sex and the City co-stars including Kristin and Cynthia .

She said at the time: "We've never been friends. We've been colleagues and, in some ways, it's a very healthy place to be."

Kim has also slammed Sarah Jessica as 'toxic' and 'cruel' and blasted her for reaching out to her on Instagram following the death of her brother Chris Cattrall, who died in February 2018.
