Sex and the City icon Kim Cattrall joins a host of stars raising funds for Greater Manchester

She taught single women about dating in New York City as feisty Samantha Jones in Sex and the City, and now Kim Cattrall is helping to raise funds for the people of Greater Manchester.

Kim, who is best known for her iconic role as PR boss Samantha in the romantic comedy series Sex and the City, is joining an all-star charity show hosted by comedian Jon Richardson on the United We Stream GM online nightlife platform tomorrow (Monday May 25) at 8pm.

No Audience With Jon Richardson and Friends, about Lancashire, the north west and life in lockdown, also stars fellow comedians Alan Carr, Jack Whitehall, Russell Kane, Dave Gorman, Jason Manford, Josh Widdecombe, Tez Ilyas, Justin Moorhouse, Harriet Dyer, Bethany Black and Kate Robbins, former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley, Britain’s Got Talent winner Lost Voice Guy Lee Ridley, singer Badly Drawn Boy, Michelin starred chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen and England cricketer James Anderson.

On May 22 - marking three years since the atrocity at the Manchester Arena that claimed 22 lives and impacted thousands more - there was a four-hour Manchester Remembers show headed by Spice Girl Melanie C who performed a pop-packed DJ set.

The streaming channel was launched by night time economy adviser Sacha Lord and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority to support the region's restaurants, bars, music venues and other cultural establishments that have been hit by the coronavirus lockdown.

Donations also support the Greater Manchester Mayor's homelessness charity and the Nordoff Robbins music charity.

Millions of people from as far away as California have tuned in to streams including an all-day Hacienda house party, a Spike Island-inspired show from Paul Oakenfold, a DJ set from Maxine Peake, a mini Moovin festival, an at-home Art Battle Manchester, and cookery demonstrations by chefs Gary Usher and Simon Wood.

United We Stream's virtual events are all free to watch, but viewers are encouraged to donate what they can.
