Sewer works to shut down Lanarkshire road for nearly a month

Sewer works by Scottish Water will see an Airdrie road close for most of next month.

Craigneuk Avenue, from 40m from the extended kerbline of Hawthorn Drive to 20m south-west of the latter road, will be shut from Monday, November 1, until late on November 26.

Diversions available to motorists will include Oakbank Street, Willow Drive, Bankhead Avenue, Howletnest Road, Poplar Street and Holly Street.

Meanwhile, another Airdrie road will close for five days from Monday, October 25.

Drumbathie Road is shutting between the A73 Motherwell Street and Springwells Avenue.

The latter two roads and the A89 Clark Street will act as alternative routes for motorists.

The closure is to allow for carriageway resurfacing works by Finco Contracts on behalf of North Lanarkshire Council.

Pedestrians will still be able to access the road “where practical”.
