Severn Beach crash: Man pronounced dead at the scene

A man has been pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle crash earlier this morning. The incident took place on Ableton Lane, Severn Beach and the road was re-opened to traffic at around 3.30pm following the tragic incident.

A report was made to the police at 7.20am this morning (Monday, March 28), following the discovery of the crash. Police officers and ambulance services quickly attended the scene during the early hour of the morning.

Sadly, the male driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. A cordon was in place throughout the afternoon while investigations continued however, the road re-opened to traffic at around 3.30pm after multiple police cars and vans pictured at the scene all left.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “Following a report made to police at 7.20am today (Monday 28 March), officers are in attendance at the scene of a single-vehicle collision on Ableton Lane, Severn Beach.

“The collision took place in the early hours of this morning. Ambulance service colleagues also attended and sadly the male driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“His family have been informed and our thoughts are with them. The road is currently closed to traffic while an investigation continues.”
