Severn Beach attack leaves victim needing hospital treatment

A man punched another customer in the face as he shopped at a convenience store in South Gloucestershire.

The victim, a man in his 20s, had to be taken to hospital and treated for facial injuries following the attack in Severn Beach.

It happened on Saturday, July 25, and Avon and Somerset Police have now shared a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to.

An appeal issued today (Wednesday) said: "The victim required hospital treatment for injuries to his face but has since been discharged.

"An investigation into what happened is under way and CCTV footage has been examined.

"The footage shows a white man that we wish to speak to in connection with our enquiries."

The assault happened at an unnamed shop in Beach Road, at about 6pm.

Police said the attacker was "unknown" to the victim, and punched him in the face.
