Severe disruption to Edinburgh trains after person hit on East Lothian tracks


Train operating services ScotRail and LNER have confirmed this afternoon that the line they use to and from Edinburgh for their trains is blocked after a person was sadly struck in East Lothian.

ScotRail have confirmed that a person had been hit by a train between Dunbar and Prestonpans in East Lothian.

As a result all ScotRail East Lothian to Edinburgh services and LNER London to Edinburgh services have been suspended with the outcome likely to be delays or cancellations according to train providers' Twitter feeds.

ScotRail passengers can use their valid ScotRail ticket or smartcard with Lothian Buses for Edinburgh, Musselburgh, Wallyford and Prestonpans.

You can also use your valid ScotRail ticket or smartcard with Perrymans buses for Edinburgh, Musselburgh, Dunbar on bus service 253.

Disruptions also apply to LNER services from Edinburgh to London Kings Cross.
