'Severe damage' caused by caravan fire in Ingoldmells

A caravan fire in Ingoldmells has left 'severe damage' in its wake.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said the fire was believed to have been a controlled fire which got out of hand.

Two fire crews from Skegness were called to tackle the blaze at 4.12pm today, Tuesday, November 5.

A video posted on Facebook showed a fire engine rushing to the scene and smoke billowing out from the top of a caravan.

A fire spokesman said: "The fire was on Roman Bank in Ingoldmells. The fire was attended by two fire appliances from Skegness.

"There was severe damage to two derelict static caravans and contents, severe damage to a large quantity of plastics, timber, tyres and domestic waste.

"The fire is believed to have been caused by controlled burning which got out of control."

An eyewitness said they could ‘hardly breathe’ because of all the smoke coming from the caravan.
