The Los Angeles Rams agreed to terms with Leonard Floyd on a four-year deal worth $64 million Monday, their biggest free-agent splash in recent years. It’s a massive contract for the five-year veteran, who will maintain his role as the Rams’ top outside linebacker.
The Rams weren’t alone in bidding for Floyd, either. According to Mike Klis of 9News in Denver, the Broncos were among several teams that had “strong interest” in signing Floyd as a free agent.
Vic Fangio, head coach of the Broncos, coached Floyd with the Bears and was interested in reuniting with the pass rusher.

It was also reported earlier on Monday that the Giants were pushing to sign Floyd, which drove up the price for the Rams, too. He opted to stay with Aaron Donald and the Rams, but the interest that he generated on the open market can’t be ignored.
It’s clear he’s held in fairly high regard around the league as a valuable pass rusher and overall edge defender.
