Several slip road closures in Lanarkshire scheduled for end of the month

A number of road closures in Lanarkshire are to be put in place at the end of the month

The closures will be in place overnight for four nights in order to minimise traffic disruption.

They will commence from Tuesday, September 28 to allow essential road surfacing works to be undertaken.

It will see four overnight closures of the M73 northbound carriageway between Junction 2 Baillieston and Junction 3 Mollinsburn.

The closures will be from 8pm to 6am on these nights.

As a result, two slip roads will be closed: the M73 northbound Junction 2 Baillieston on slip road from Baillieston roundabout; and the M73 northbound Junction 2A Gartcosh on slip road.

Signed diversion routes will be in place.

Traffic Scotland have advised that these closures are required to ensure road user and road worker safety whilst these essential road surfacing works are undertaken and have been scheduled overnight to minimise disruption to traffic.

The road will therefore reopen at 6am each morning.

The road works will be carried out by Scottish Road Partnership on behalf of Transport Scotland to maintain the integrity and safety of this route.

The works have been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland, Traffic Scotland, the emergency services, Amey and Glasgow City Council.

Motorists are also advised that all works are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

If you have any enquiries regarding these works, you can contact SRP on 0800 042 0188 or info@scotroadspartnership.co.uk
