Several Rockets lose inches under NBA’s new height measurements

Several Houston Rockets role players are now listed as shorter than their previous “official” NBA heights, owing to the league’s revised policy for height measurements.

According to the New York Times, teams are now required to send in the heights of their players as measured by a team doctor and without wearing shoes. This has caused some changes all around the NBA, and as of Thursday, we now know the impact in Houston.

Franchise centerpieces James Harden and Russell Westbrook measured in at their previously stated 6-foot-5 and 6-foot-3 heights, respectively, as did starting center Clint Capela at 6-foot-10.

However, most other Rockets dropped an inch or two. The largest declines were from guard Ben McLemore and forward Gary Clark, who each dropped two inches to 6-foot-3 and 6-foot-6, respectively.

Rookie guard Chris Clemons remains the smallest Rocket at 5-foot-9, though he is now slightly closer to his teammates, proportionally, since his prior listing remained steady.
