Several road closures announced for A71 Horsley Brae at Garrion Bridge

Road closures will take place at the A71 Horsley Brae next month to allow resurfacing work to be carried out.

The closures will be at: A71 Horsley Brae from the access to Garrion Bridges Garden Centre, northwards for approximately 500m to the junction of B7011 Brownlee Road, and B7011 Brownlee Road from its junction with the A71 Horsley Brae, eastwards for approximately 180m.

Overnight road closures will take place at these locations from Wednesday, October 5, to Friday, October 7, from 8pm to 6am.

There will then be a road closure from midnight on from 12.01am on Saturday, October 8, to 11.59pm on Sunday, October 9.

A signed diversion route will be in place during these closures.

The closures are required to facilitate road surfacing works which is the final part of a junction improvement project by North Lanarkshire Council to help improve traffic flow and road safety.

The work has been planned and scheduled with the contractors to take place overnight and at weekends to minimise disruption to local residents and businesses.

All temporary traffic management is expected to be removed from the site after the work is complete, subject to any delays caused by adverse weather.
