Several men arrested for ‘murder’ after man stabbed to death during burglary in Brentford

Seven men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a fatal stabbing during a burglary in west London.

Police were called to reports intruders had burst into a property on Brentwick Gardens, Brentford at 5.15am on Wednesday.

At the scene a male - whose aged is not known - was found on the street with knife injuries.

Officers, paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance attended.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene in Hounslow.

Forensic officers were trawling the scene for clues along with police dog teams this morning.

Detectives were also scouring CCTV from around the crime scene on a leafy west London street.

One neighbour said: “I heard people running and some shouting. Then all hell broke loose and there were police and ambulances everywhere.”

Another local saw men arrested after trying to flee the scene.

She said: “There were a couple of guys escaping the scene but they were arrested by police and put in the van.  It was mayhem for a minute, we have had problems with drug sellers around here.”

Police were bagging up evidence from the crime scene and carrying out door to door inquiries.

The property where the man was killed had been regularly attended by police, according to neighbours.

One said: “It’s a house which has attracted a lot of problems.

“Police are always there. I heard shouting around the time the man was stabbed but it’s normal coming from that property.”

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Enquiries are underway to notify next of kin.

“A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.”

The suspects were taken to various west London police stations where they remain as detectives establish the full circumstances.

Anyone with information should call police via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
