Several major ScotRail services disrupted with replacement busses called in

SCOTRAIL passengers are facing disruption on several major services this weekend due to engineering work as travellers have been warned that replacement bus services may be “busier than usual”.

Routes between Edinburgh and Stirling, Dunblane, Inverness, and between Glasgow Queen Street and Falkirk Grahamston will all be impacted and replacement bus services will be in operation.

The train operator has advised customers that the replacement services may be busier than usual and that travellers should allow extra time for their journey.

A replacement bus service will also be in place on Sunday between Carlisle and Dumfries due to engineering works.

ScotRail added that the last journey from Carlisle to Glasgow will depart Carlisle at 18:33 as a replacement bus service to Dumfries, where customers can change onto the 19:50 train service to Glasgow Central.

In a statement online, ScotRail said: “This weekend (30/31 Aug) engineering work is taking place between Linlithgow and Stirling, which will affect routes between Edinburgh and Stirling / Dunblane / Inverness, and between Glasgow Queen Street and Falkirk Grahamston.

“On Sunday 31 Aug ONLY, due to engineering works, buses replace trains between Carlisle and Dumfries.
