April 21--Coach Joel Quenneville is making several lineup changes with Andrew Shaw suspended and with the Blackhawks facing elimination in Game 5 against the Blues on Thursday.
Quenneville is planning to play Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane on the top line an option Quenneville does not normally like to employ unless he feels he must.
"We feel maybe there's more balance in the lines, offensively as well as defensively, to try a different look," Quenneville said.
Quenneville also moved Teuvo Teravainen from center to the right wing of the second line.
"I want to see him with the puck more and make a contribution on that line," he said. "He's more dangerous than he's shown, he can make a difference and we're going to need him to be."
Here were Quenneville's line combinations at Thursday's morning skate:
Richard Panik-Jonathan Toews-Patrick Kane
Artemi Panarin-Artem Anisimov-Teuvo Teravainen
Andrew Ladd-Marcus Kruger-Marian Hossa
Brandon Mashinter-Andrew Desjardins-Dale Weise
As for the defense, Quenneville said David Rundblad will play tonight. It will be Rundblad's first game in a Hawks uniform since Dec. 13. The had previously loaned Rundblad to the ZSC Lions of Switzerland's National League A in January before Rundblad rejoined the organization in Rockford last month. Michal Rozsival could be the odd defenseman out, Quenneville said.
