Several people including a child have been injured in a ‘serious’ multi-vehicle crash in Midlothian.
The child has been taken to hospital following the smash on Easthouses Road in Dalkeith.
Emergency crews raced to the scene just before 5pm.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Easthouses Road, Dalkeith at 1650 hours following a report of a serious collision involving 3 cars.
“Emergency services remain in attendance and the road is closed.
“A child was injured in the crash and has been taken to hospital.
“We are now waiting for further information from the hospital.”
