Man dead, several hospitalised after harvester hits powerlines on pineapple farm near Yeppoon

A man has died and several people have been hospitalised after a harvester came into contact with powerlines at a pineapple farm near Yeppoon on Wednesday morning.

The 25-year-old Yeppoon man died after being taken to the Capricorn Coast Hospital in Yeppoon in a critical condition shortly after 9:00am.

The ABC understands the incident occurred just before 9:30am at Lake Mary Pines in Bungundarra.

Two men in their 30s and one woman in her 20s were among those taken to Capricorn Coast Hospital in Yeppoon in a stable condition.

Health authorities said two have since been discharged.

A man in his 50s, a man in his 30s and another man with an unknown age were taken to the Rockhampton Hospital, also in a stable condition.

The Office of Industrial Relations said Workplace Health and Safety Queensland and Electrical Safety Office investigators were at the site, which is currently under police control.

In a statement, Ergon Energy said crews have made the area safe and it would continue to assist with investigations.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
