Several drivers are facing hefty fines after police handed out tickets to speeding motorists in Edinburgh today.
Road policing officers carried out speed checks on Frogston Road in the Mortonhall area, near Gracemount, this afternoon.
Officers issued a number of tickets for speeding, as well as other road traffic offences.
A statement from the unit on Twitter said: "Edinburgh Road Police were out today with colleagues from @EdinPolSE carrying out speed enforcement on Frogston Road in Edinburgh.
"Several tickets issued for speeding and other road traffic offences."
This led to calls for officers to pay a visit to Lothian Road, with one user writing: "Cars continually parked on zig-zags outside German Doner shop on Lothian Road, can you please enforce [sic]."
Last week, police pulled over a number of vehicles after drivers ignored diversions and crossed the Forth Road Bridge when the Queensferry Crossing shut to traffic.
Road Policing Scotland said one HGV driver simply "decided the diversions were not for him" and has been reported for careless driving by officers.
