Several Dodge Caravans stolen on South Side: police

Several vehicle thefts took place in June, 2019, on the South Side.

Police are warning South Side residents of a string of car thefts this month in Bronzeville, Hyde Park and Kenwood on the South Side.

In each case, owners of older Dodge Caravan models parked their cars on the street and came back to find them stolen, Chicago police said in an alert.

The thefts happened:

  • Between 4 p.m. June 12 and 3:35 a.m. June 13 in the 4100 block of South Michigan Avenue
  • About 1 a.m. June 14 in the 5300 block of South Kimbark Avenue
  • About 10 p.m. June 18 in the 4800 block of South Drexel Boulevard
  • Between 9 p.m. June 25 and 7 a.m. June 26 in the 1100 block of East Hyde Park Boulevard

Police didn’t have a description of any suspects.

Anyone with information about the thefts should contact Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
