PATNA: Super 30 founder Anand Kumar has been invited as the chief guest at the 7th India Day Festival being organised by the Indian National Cultural Centre SITA in Moscow, Russia, from August 11 to 14.
SITA is a non-profit organisation working with a mission to promote, honour and engage the rich Indian culture and heritage with the Russians, foreigners and Indians in Russia. India Day Festival is to celebrate the Indian Independence Day and is the largest international festival in Russia. In 2019, nearly 1.5 million people had attended the festival.
"The purpose of the 'India Day' is to acknowledge the friendship and love between India and Russia and to strengthen interactions between the two countries through culture and art. This year, we have invited Anand Kumar, who is globally acclaimed due to his pioneering Super 30 initiative, which has made a meaningful difference to the lives of many and underlined the power of education as an agent of lasting and positive change in the society," said Sammy Kotwani, president of the Indian National Cultural Centre SITA.
This year, he said, it would be a special occasion as India celebrates its 75th year of Independence. "We plan to expand the programme for this big occasion by showing the Muscovites and guests the history of ancient Indian civilisation and modern India. It will be an honour to have Anand Kumar here," he added.
