The Infinity Allstars’ troupe swapped Monkton for the bright lights of Florida in pursuit of gold medals.
And the girls, a key part of Team Scotland, finished among the world’s elite teams.
They were up against strong competition in the junior advanced section of the International Cheer Union World Championships held in Florida at the end of last month.
It’s all a matter of huge pride for captain, Leanne Caird, who established the Ayrshire squad 10 years ago.
She revealed: “I got great enjoyment as a performer and competed at the worlds myself.
“So to go there with members of my own team was amazing.
“Our girls train at Monkton Community Hall and it goes without saying they are up against teams with far better facilities.
“We don’t have the spring floors and gymnastics equipment that others can boast.
“But that hall is our wee home and we now have 140 dancers on the register.
“In many ways we’ve outgrown our surroundings but it’s ours and it’s clearly not stopping us from performing at the top level.”
A coaching team of nine put the Infinity squad through their paces on a weekly basis.
And that helped Katie Chamberlain, Becki Gillespie, Katie McCririe, Libbi Davidson and Ellie McCririe qualify for national honours.
Leanne, 29, said: “The girls did really well to make the Scottish team.
“It’s a big deal to be selected and the team did everyone proud by finishing seventh in the world.
“And for us to have girls going from our school is such an achievement, so we’re all thrilled.”
