Seventeen more lives have been lost to coronavirus in Greater Manchester

Seventeen more lives have been lost to coronavirus in Greater Manchester's hospitals.

The region's hospital death toll now stands at 1,841, according to the latest NHS data.

Eleven more coronavirus-related deaths have been recorded at Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust since Friday.

Two more lives were lost to the virus at the Royal Bolton Hospital, while another three people died at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

The other eight hospital trusts in Greater Manchester reported no new deaths in their 24 hour data.

The total number of coronavirus deaths at hospital trusts in Greater Manchester, as of Friday, May 30, is:

  • Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust 9
  • Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust 387
  • NHS Nightingale Hospital North West 3
  • Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust 463
  • Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust 6
  • Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust 166
  • Stockport NHS Foundation Trust 185
  • Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust 154
  • The Christie NHS Foundation Trust 13
  • Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust 241

Across the North West another 43 more deaths were reported - the highest figure among all regions in England.
