A child has been taken to hospital after a collision with a vehicle in the Hunter on Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency services were called about 3.20pm on Wednesday June 17 to reports of an incident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Lang Street at Kurri Kurri.
A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said crews arrived to find a seven-year-old boy had been struck.
Paramedics tasked an inspector, intensive care paramedics, a medical retrieval vehicle and a Westpac Rescue Helicopter to attend the scene
The spokesperson said paramedics initially suspected the child had injuries to his arms and legs.
He was transported to John Hunter Hospital in stable condition, with the medical retrieval team assisting with the transportation.
NSW Police said they were told the child had been hit by a utility vehicle on the roadway.
Police have begun inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
