Seven-year-old boy hurt after being hit by car at pedestrian crossing in Prestonpans

A seven-year-old boy was hurt after being hit by a car at a pedestrian crossing in Prestonpans.

Police in East Lothian say that enquiries into the incident, which happened on Mid Road at around 5.10pm last night, are ongoing.

The youngster was crossing the road near to Jim Bush Drive when he was hit by a black Vauxhall Astra – suffering minor injuries.

The Astra stopped at the scene, but police are continuing to investigate and they want any other witnesses to the accident to come forward.

A spokesperson said: "Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the collision and anyone who witnessed this and who has not yet spoken to the police is urged to contact us on 101, quoting incident number 3028 of 23 May."
