Lovable Labradors are intelligent enough to serve as guide dogs, as well as important police force and military jobs.
But the family pets are also a hilarious source of entertainment and are always getting up to mischief.
The loyal breed have been adored by celebrities and politicians alike - including American President Bill Clinton, Prince Charles and Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak.
But the popular pups have also been racking up millions of views on social media, hitting headlines multiple times in the past few months.
From raiding the bin and sibling spats to learning how to use a torch - here are seven times Labradors made the internet laugh out loud.
Lab who’s scared of the dark
Like many youngsters, Jake the Labrador is scared of the dark - but his owner has come up with a hilarious way to combat his fear.
The Lab/huntaway cross, from New Zealand, doesn’t like going for a wee in the garden at night, so his owner has taught him how to use a torch.
The pup has mastered holding the lantern in his mouth as he heads out to spend a penny, using the beam to guide him through the garden and back.
What do you mean, I’m a big sister?
When Poppy was first introduced to chocolate Lab little sister Ivy, she soon realised that she might have to share a few things - including all the attention.
Like most siblings, the pups appeared to get on much of the time, snuggling in bed - but it’s never long before a row breaks out.
In one clip, Ivy was seen biting and pulling at Poppy’s collar, but Poppy later returned the favour, chomping at Ivy in their bed.
While Poppy might have been reluctant at first, she and Ivy were soon the best of friends, of course.
Look mum, I did a wee!
Four-year-old Duke had the internet in stitches after his excited reaction to going for a wee.
That’s right, usually dogs get excited over tennis balls and walkies, but Duke just loves popping to the loo.
The energetic dog heads out to relieve himself in the garden, and when praised by his owner, sprints laps around the yard in sheer joy.
He zoomed around the decking and across the grass while his owner asks why he’s so pleased with himself, but he continues his toilet time celebration, and it’s totally adorable.
Wanna go for a…
This is something dogs love to get excited about.
Scout is a Labrador cross catahoula leopard dog who loves nothing more than going for a run.
And she displays his excitement with a high pitched squeal whenever his owner mentions the word.
Viewers were then treated to a show of power and athleticism, sharing just how much Scout loves to sprint, pulling her owner behind her on a skateboard.
It wasn’t me
As much as Shelby tried to deny that it wasn’t him that raided the bin, all the evidence appeared to be stacked against him.
The nine-month-old chocolate Labrador puppy sported quite the guilty look after getting the kitchen bin lid stuck around his neck.
The raid had left him red-pawed and red faced as he slumped off to try and hide, but his guilty face suggested he knew he wasn’t getting away with it this time.
Still got the moves
Elderly Labrador Charlie proved that age is just a number with an amazing dancing display.
The black dog has slowed down a bit in his twilight years, but he still has the iconic Lab bum wiggle when he gets excited.
The Labrador pounces on his owner, who replies by sticking his arm out for the Lab to go at.
This is when Charlie fully displays the spring that remains in his step, as he leaps up at the hand in his face, bouncing lightly on his paws as he goes.
Comfort blanket
Black Labrador, Aurora, still struggles to get rid of habits from when her teeth were coming through, such as sucking on her bed for comfort.
This habit became so unbreakable that Aurora’s owners simply had to do something to ween the dog off.
So they came up with the genius solution of buying their canine a doggy pacifier for her from Amazon to suck on instead.
After a vet advised the toy, they gave it a try and Aurora quickly took to the pacifier and now adorably can't go without it.
