Seven things you can do again from Monday as Ireland's lockdown reopening begins

Ireland is braced for another huge day in our battle against Covid-19 on Monday as we see the biggest reopening of the year.

June 7 has long been earmarked as a vital day for the hospitality sector as pubs, bars and restaurants will finally be able to return for outdoor dining.

And gyms, swimming pools and leisure centres will also be allowed to open their doors once again - although it will be for individual training only.

Weddings, sport, big events and driver theory tests are some of the other major changes on the way as restrictions significantly ease.

Here is everything you can do again from Monday:

Visitors to your home

If you are an unvaccinated household you can have visitors from one other unvaccinated household inside your home.

With the vaccine bonus, in a fully vaccinated household you can meet indoors with:

  • other fully vaccinated people from up to 2 other households
  • people from 1 other household who are not vaccinated - as long as no more than 3 households are there

You can do this without wearing face coverings or staying 2 metres apart.

The people you meet should not be at high risk from COVID-19 if they are not vaccinated.

Weddings

25 people can attend a wedding celebration or reception.

Sport

Outdoor sports matches can take place.

Gyms

Gyms, swimming pools, leisure centres can reopen for individual training only.

Restaurants, pubs and bars

Outdoor dining can reopen for the hospitality sector as pubs, restaurants and bars can throw their doors open again.

Driver Theory tests

A total of 25,000 tests a month are set to take place to relieve the current backlog.

Organised outdoor events

From June 7, there can be a maximum of 100 attendees for the majority of venues. There will be a maximum of 200 for outdoor venues with a minimum accredited capacity of 5,000
