Seven out of ten Scots women admit faking orgasms as 'sex takes too long'

Some seven out of ten Scottish women have admitted to faking an orgasm because the 'sex was taking too long', according to a new survey.

Results found that 71% of women and 31% of men in Scotland have pretended to climax with a partner in a bid to get the deed over with.

Meanwhile, six out ten women said they had faked and orgasm in the last year while stuck at home with their partner during lockdown, according to a poll of 2,000 people by IllicitEncounters.com.

More than half the women surveyed said they had faked it because the sex was taking too long and they didn't want to hurt their partner's feelings.

Sots women also pretended to climax because the sex was boring, they were not in the mood, too tired, had drunk too much alcohol or their partner was new and could not satisfy them.

Sparing a partner's feelings was the main reason Scottish men fake it - chosen by 22% of those questioned.

One in ten male Scots said they had faked an orgasm during a one-night stand after realising they had made a mistake.

The results come from a new survey IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people.

It found that women were eight times more likely to fake an orgasm with their husband or long-term partner than with a new lover or someone with whom they were cheating.

Men were three times more likely to pretend with their wife or long-term partner than with someone they had just started dating or having an affair with.

Half the women questioned said they saw nothing wrong in faking a climax because to reveal the truth would cause more harm, while 36% of men saw no issue in pretending.

Meanwhile, four out of ten women said that it was 'easy' to fool men into thinking they have climaxed - but only 12% of men agreed.

IllicitEncounters.com sex and relationship Jessica Leoni said: "There is no doubt that faking it is on the rise because so many couples have been stuck at home together for the last year having rubbish sex.

“For lots of women it is easier to fake it and get the sex over with rather than explain to their partner that they are not happy.

“The best way to stop faking orgasms is to take on a new lover. The excitement of sleeping with someone new means most people really don’t need to fake their reactions.

"The best sex happens right at the start of a relationship when you are both discovering each other’s bodies for the first time.”

More than one million people have registered with IllicitEncounters.com since it was started almost 18 years ago.
